Hello!
I would like to announce that I will be speaking at this symposium in Xi'an, China on October 17th, 2004. The symposium is dedicated to the teaching and language acquisition of a very career-specific target group: doctors. I will be presenting a paper 'Changing the Paradigm for English Medical Language Teaching' in keeping with the theme and the curriculum model I have designed. The symposium is hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong University. If you are attending, please do come and introduce yourself! I'd love to meet the many people I have been corresponding with around the world.

My medical english is not very well. I still have a long way to go. Have fun.

So long!

Hello, everyone:

Thank-you for your inquiring about this conference in Xi'an, China in 2004.  It was a great event.  You can read my article:  Changing the Paradigm for Medical English Language Teaching published on-line at  http://www.usingenglish.com/articles/medical-english-language-teaching.html.  Or, just type in the title and you'll find it.

Since 2004, I had the pleasure to speak again in China.  I attended the 2006 International Symposium on Medical English in Beijing in July.  It was fantastic.  I was sorry to see that once again, at this international gathering, there were only about 4 of us who were native-English speakers.  I really would like to encourage everyone to get involved.  Next one:  2008, Shanghai, I believe.
