Honestly, I don't know what it even means, but I heard it here:

China has also made initial progress in making investments abroad. China has more than 160 foreign investment markets, and 5,793 investment enterprises outside Chinese territory. China’s total agreed investments have come to 6.5 billion US dollars-worth. These overseas investment enterprises are engaged in a wide range of businesses, including foreign trade, real estate investment, information consultancy, finance, insurance, catering, tourism, contracting for labor services, culture, education, public health and technology development.

Yes, what I said was not strictly true. "have many foreign investment markets" is possible in the sense of having many potential markets that are available, and possibly utlitised, for investment. However, this would not normally be said of an individual, or used to mean that the individual has many investments in all those markets.

Yeah, well I guess you can't have potential markets because you have invested in them. lol...

Thanks.

having many foreign investment markets

When I wrote that, I wanted to say "controls many markets".

Can we say what I said in informal speech?

I think I heard "He has the market" instead of "He has the control over the market" in many occasions.

Wouldn't "He has the market" be a metaphor???
