Dear Teachers,

To questions such as "What're you gonna have?" "What would you like to drink?", if your choice was "beer", which would you say?

I'm gonna have a beer? , or "I'm gonna have beer."

Similarly, if you choice was "Scotch on the rocks", would you say "I'm gonna have a Scotch on the rocks.", or "I'm gonna have Scotch on the rocks."?

Since you are being offered the drink:

I would like a beer, thank you

A beer, please.

I would like a scotch on the rocks, thank you.

A scotch on the rocks, please.
