if you just need to continuing running XP because you have a device (often a printer) for which Vista drivers aren't available

Is conjugation right in this case?

there are only two forms of the infinitive: present (to continue) and perfect (to have continued) - god, I hope I'm right.

You just needed to have continued running it a little while longer!

You want this: need to continue running

But what you have isn't a sentence, just an if clause.

If you need X because you have Y for which Z isn't available .....

Then, what???

You left out the two corresponding passive infinitives (to be continued; to have been continued).
