Hello all

I was wondering if you can help me with these words, because I looked up in my dictionary and on online dictionaries but I didn't understand the meaning of the ones, for that reason I'll be glad if you explain me them and give me at least one example of each one Phew

I don't understand what means:

Because of

roundabout

go straight

Thank you very much and sorry for my English, correct it if it's possible.

He failed to get home because of the strike on the railways, so no trains were running.

That is a very roundabout way to get to the centre of town.

go straight >>      Informal. to live a law-abiding life; no longer engage in crime.

When he came out of prison, he announced that from now on he would go straight.

Because of - (the reason why; due to) The game was delayed because of rain. He was late because of the traffic jam. She can't walk because of her broken leg.

roundabout - 1) a traffic circle - Be careful when you drive into the roundabout.  Take the third exit after you enter the roundabout.  2) indirect. There is a much longer roundabout route to get there, but if you take it, you will avoid most of the traffic jams.

go straight -  There are several idioms with "go straight". It literally means not to turn or curve from the route. It also refers to a criminal who decides not to do bad things any more. After he got out of jail, he went straight.
