I got an email from a friend. Before her signature, instead of using 'truly yours',' sincerely yours', she put 'love' there.
Then someone told me the word 'love' could be used before signature in letters for any friends even if they're not very close, it doesn't mean"I love you"
I'm now really confused by this word. Is anyone here by the chance the authority of English letters and can give me an explanation?

You might use the "love" with someone whom is special, but not necessarily love in a romantic way.
So this friend might value your friendship a tremendously. I am not an authority, but I do occasionally use "love" with close and or special friends.
Hope that helps.
