Thanks all, many others there that I should have though of but didn't <img src="/emoticons/emotion-10.gif" alt="Embarrassed [:$]" />.
Oh well, my aadvark (who is ecstatic to have been joined by all those eels and llamas) and I will now shove off, but we are certain to return soon with more ponderings!

Philip makes an interesting point about the Yellow Pages. there's a similar phenomenon in Italy where people put A.A.A. at the beginning of small ads so they'll be first in the list.
