This is the team of doctors and nurses who respond immediately to patients suffering cardiac arrest - or "sudden cardiac death" as I have seen it written in some AmE publications. "George, you're running the code team George is the senior doctor in charge of the team, and will give instructions to other team members - tell them waht drugs to administer, etc. The trauma team will respond to severely injured patients, or to multiple casualties e.g. from a road accidents. Meredith, take the trauma pager Meredith is in charge of coordinating the trauma team, and giving instructions when attending to the patient.
