About a noun clause and because of

I have some problems on the following sentences, please help me with this, thanks :

I chatted incidentally to them who usually give me the hitchhiking.(them = my friends; but I'd rather NOT use my friends)

I am very joyful because of being teached the new things.

In other words : I am very joyful because I am teached the new things;

(But I'd lke to use because of, so how can I use in that case ?)

Are they correct ?

I am very joyful because of being teached the new things. Try: I am joyful (you don't need "very") because of all the new things I have been taught.

In other words : I am very joyful because I am taught ~~the~~ new things;

(But I'd lke to use because of, so how can I use in that case ?)

Are they correct ?

To make it simple, I rewrite :

I chatted with them who gave me a ride.

I can say in other words : I chatted with my buddies who gave me a ride.

But the problem I still don't understand whether or not I can use a noun clause after pronoun (who gave me a ride modifies them) like the above sentence ?

I chatted with the people who gave me a ride.

You cannot use "them" here, because it's the head of a new phrase: The people who gave me a ride or those who gave me a ride, but not "them who gave me a ride."
