Are they all correct?

(a)       I have many friends. Among them, Christ is my best friend.

(b)       We have been friends since four years. I like him because he is always with me.

(c)       If we have problems with our homework, we will help each other.

(d)       Now, I am like his English teacher tutor.

(e)       We share the same hobby too, that is reading.

(f)        We often go to the public library which is near my house to borrow some storybooks.

(g)       I’m very thankful to have such a good friend like Susan.

Hi,

Are they all correct?

(a)       I have many friends. Among them, Christ is my best friend.  ok

(b)       We have been friends for four years. I like him because he is always with me.

(c)       If we have problems with our homework, we will help each other. ok

(d)       Now, I am like his English teacher tutor. Say either 'teacher' or 'tutor', but not both.

(e)       We share the same hobby too, which is reading.

(f)        We often go to the public library which is near my house to borrow some storybooks.   ok. 'Novels' is a better word to use.

(g)       I’m very thankful to have such a good friend as Susan. Or to have such a good friend like Susan

Best wishes, Clive

Sorry for the tough question. Smile [:)]

So can I say such must always go with as?

Hi,

can I say such must always go with as? Yes, if you want to say this kind of thing: I’m very thankful to have such a good friend as Susan.

However, as you probably realize, 'as' can be used in many dfferent ways, in other kinds of expressions. So can 'such', eg She is such a nice woman.

So be careful when you make general statements.Smile [:)]

Best wishes, Clive
