Hi,

Can you tell me what a person has to do in order to write correctly if that person decides to resort to this type of what I consider to be a psedo-quoting method (I don't even know, the words 'psedo-quoting method' are the right term to use to say the thing I want to say). Does what looks to be a quote that comes after the word 'said' has to be a one hundred percent quoted material?

As someone has said, Luther was just like everyone else in the sixteenth century -- only more so!

Hi,

Does what looks to be a quote that comes after the word 'said' have to be one hundred percent quoted material? No. I would only expect that if it were in quotation marks.

Best wishes, Clive
