I accused him for my failure.

I blamed him for my failure.

Which one is correct? Also what's the difference between "accused" and "blamed". Usually I would understand the both as having the same meaning.

Used differently-- but I would like to change your sentences to avoid further confusion:

I accused him of wrecking the car. = I said that he wrecked the car.

I blamed him for wrecking the car. = I thought (and may or may not have said) that he wrecked the car.
