In the below sentence, did I place an adverb at the right place in the sentence? So any explanation of how to properly use adverbs in sentencea would be very much appreciated.

The day we all have been impatiently waiting is almost here.

Placement is correct, as close as possible to the word modified.
[impatiently awaiting] or [impatiently waiting for]
