can I use advice and recommend interchangeably? do they mean the same?

What do you recommend me to do? What do you advice me to do?

The verbs are advise and recommend.  The nouns are advice and recommendation.

No, they are not interchangeable, even though the meanings are similar.  The usual patterns are:

What do you advise me to do?
What do you recommend (that) I do?
I advise you to see the doctor about that problem.
I recommend (that) you see the doctor about that problem.


You may want to post individual questions about specific sentences using these words.
