Hi,
I would like to know the exact meaning of this "breaking" here:
'The afternoon sun was BREAKING'
Does this mean that the sun is coming out or something like this?
Tkanks.

Hi,

Yes. eg The sun was breaking through the clouds. We also say 'daybreak' or more poetically, 'the break of day' ,to mean dawn.

Best wishes, Clive
