Can someone explain to me on how to use the word 'afterwards'?

- Afterwards, we went to grap something to eat.
- We went to grap something to eat afterwards.

Which one is correct?

Is it possible to use 'afterwards' in the beginning of a sentence??

Thanks.

Both sentences are correct, except for 'grab'.
