Hi guys!I'm a bit shocked! Surprise [:O]

I was watching the flash tv news this evening, and the tv journalist was talking about the visit of the Pope in Poland,as a matter of fact he went to the concentration camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau to commemorate all the victims of the Shoah. After that there was the service of the prime minister of Iran,Ahmadinejad. His speech really got me angry! Angry [:@] Ahmadinejad said that Germany must not to feel guilty for the Holocaust, because they did a great job and because it never took place, moreover if it really existed, the fault was of the european population (that should bear the consequences),and not of the palestinian one!! Indifferent [:|] He add that Israel have no reason to exist! Surprise [:O] I was speechless!!I mean,is there someone that still thinks that the Shoah didn't take place??

I think there are enough evidences that the Holocaust is real! What is your opinion about that?!I ask you this because until now I was sure that everybody agreed with me,to say that the Jew's genocide took place, but now I'm not sure of that!!

Regards Star [star]

PS..I'm really sorry if I didn't explain the topic in a understandable way,it's late,and I'm a bit tired! Embarrassed [:$]

Besides the Jews, there were a lot of other people and nations againts whom the "genocide" took place. The Jews were not the only...

I know!!..but in this situation we are talking about the Jews. Genocides happen today, few years after the nazi lagers, few years before,in the past centuries, and in the next century..I was only focusing on one of the most barbarian facts of 20th century.. Big Smile [:D]

I think in political affairs the words shouldnt always be taken as literally. It is obvious that he is just a making demagogy rather than delivering real opinions as a truthteller.Cant you see the contaversy even in the two sentences that come subsequently?

Therefore, dont be angry,Nyla, this is how political affairs go.

The holocaust certainly took place. It must go down in history as one of the most barbaric acts known to man. That anyone should make the comments you refer to just shows that those full of hate still exist. Let us move on and try to treat those we know with dignity and respect.

Hi there,,

First of all, no rational person can deny the holocaust happened to the jews between the years 1938-1945. It's a disgusting thing to think that certain people just think they're superior to other nations. But the question is what happened after the end of the war. Here's what I believe. I can say that Israelis are not the biggest losers here but rather they are the biggest winners. HOW? For a variety of reasons:

1. They win international sympathy ( it's the only nation that repeatedly remind the world about this tragedy)

2. What happened next?, they got a promise from British government to settle in Palestine. Needless to say they certainly did. And the Palestine people are paying the price indeed.

3. Annually German government is paying compensations for the victims of the holocaust in particular and israeli government in general, holding remembrances and apologizing . (Apart from this, Can I say that I admire the people of German though I've never ever met anyone of them. How great their country has become in spite of the fact that they were completely devastating post the war)

Back to the topic, I'm not particularly against the last point. But let's consider it. Along aside with the genocide committed against Jews (they say about 6 millions dead)  this war cost Russia about 20 millions dead, and don’t forget the greatest loss of Japanese people after the nuclear bombs. I'm just giving examples. Many people have been killed. And what's next? Barely you hear about Russian and Japanese losses. And I've never heard about any kind of compensations that are still given to either of them. What we're all about is the Holocaust.

How much do the Israelis make use of this tragedy??  The answer is clearly stated in the book" Holocaust and The American Life" by Peter Novik (I don't know if I write the last name correctly 'cause I read the book in my mother tongue). The author is a history prof. in Chicago University.

What lies behind us and what lies before us are TINY matters compared to what lies WITHIN us

During a war both civilians and soldiers die, this is horrible, but that's the war.In the World War II,America,Italy,UK,India,Japan,Russia,Poland,Finland,France, and I don't know how many other countries, have great losses (55-60 million people died during that war!),because,in my opinion, even one dead person is a great loss.

Anyway I think that for the jews it was a different situation, they are not died during the bombings,or by anti-man mines, like other civilians, they were killed, not for their belief, but as a race, and above all they were assassinated with a planning, the final solution,as a matter of fact the nazi planned it,they built the lagers, the gas room, etc.

Moreover, and even if many other people were tortured during WWII,the nazi used to do experiments on jews (i.e.injections of acid in their eyes,to try to tranform them in german blue eyes!),and this is really frightening! So,in my opinion,we remember the Jews, more than others, because of the cruelty of their assasinations and tortures!
