1. All the living things ...................

2. All living things ..................

What is difference  between the two?

When do we use "the" after "all"? As I have seen some sentences

3. All horses .....

4. All  day ........

5. All countries .........

But

6. All the students .......  Is All  students possible?

Hi,

6. All the students .......  Is All  students possible?

If you are talking generally about all the students in the world, don't use 'the'.

Use 'the' if you are talking about specific students, eg all the students in the room, all the students in this university, all the students who are studying French. You also say 'the' if there are two groupsof peoplein the room, teachers and students, and you want to specify 'all the students' as opposed to 'all the teachers'.

It's the same for your other examples.

Best wishes, Clive

Hello Mr.Clive ,

Things are now clear a bit. But

1. All the living things ...................

2. All living things ..................

Which one is correct? So far as  I think,  when we talk about living things, we think about all living things in the world.

So use of "the" may not be correct?

" the " is a definite article which is specific. " all the living things " in this sentence are specific. " all living things " in this sentence are general.   depend on whether you want to be specific or general, both of them are correct.
