A detective comes to the table of Eli and Melinda.

Detective: Excuse me, are you Eli James?

Eli: And friends.  What does he mean?

Can he mean the many people who visited him an hour before that?

Hi, Madhulk.  It's quite hard to figure it out without context. I guess he meant, jokingly "Yes, I'm". Just a joke like :"There are me and my company." implies "I'm the whole here and there is no one else". It's my opinion.

"And friends" might just refer to anyone with him, in this case - to Melinda.
