I have been searching for an answer to this for some time and am unable to find answer. Consider the following two sentances,

1) Each of the so many objects is painted.

2) Each of the so many objects are painted.

I can see that option 1 could be correct because you are considering each of the objects as a singular. However the noun used is itself a plural so should the verb not be too?

Which is correct and why?

1) Each of the so many objects is painted.
2) Each of the so many objects are painted.
iMO, the sentence should read "Each of the many objects is painted." (remove 'so')
'Each' should followed by a singular verb (in this case 'is'). "Each object is painted".

I'm still trying to get used to the new system.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks in advance.
