Please make corrections/edits to the following sentence:

Answering other people's questions give you a chance to polish your skills.

Although this sentence is ok to me, I'd say "... helps you polish/improve your skills" instead of giving a chance, because this is a long and steady process rather than getting a chance from time to time.

But the original is ok anyway.
