Can you please help me with the phrases in blue. Are they Ok? Do you have a better idea?Please, correct me.

If you take away the fantasy from your lover/ if you rip your lover off fantasy, what do you get? Dried marriage, few mysterious trips, suspicious encounters. He is a charachter from books, even when I am not writing about him.
