SCURVY:
A. completely centered
B. above reproach
C. imaginative
D. valiant
E carefree

Whoa, the board is flooded by my posts.

(Choose a lettered word or phrase that is most nearly opposite in meaning to the word in the capital letters.)

Once again I failed to sniff out which one is right. I am now wondering if there's a typo. Hope so. Tongue Tied [:S]

Thanks for your help.

I can hear pirates going 'Yarrrrrr you scurvy dogs'.

Easy.  The opposite of contemptible is above reproach.

You're hitting bang on the target, Davkett. But why why why?

A person who is 'above reproach' is one who cannot be criticized for faults, because he is blameless, (or, perhaps, because he is a superior officer, or a potentate, and the like, and there are legal or religious restrictions on who is allowed to blame who.)
