MrP,

Thanks for answering my question Smile [:)]
I've noticed some features of what you call "hard pronounciation" ("k" vs "tch") in the mp3's I downloaded from the website posted by Feebs.
I also noticed differences regarding "u" and "v"...
They really make words seem different from the ones I'm used to Smile [:)]

Yes; initial v is always w, for me.

I find the "softer" pronunciation a little disconcerting. It makes the writings of Roman authors sound strangely genial and family-friendly.

Same here for the "harder" one ... Listening to it makes me feel as if an old relative of mine changed his face Sad [:(]
It's just a matter of what you're used to, I guess Smile [:)]

Hi,
In addition to those mentioned earlier in this thread, you could look at

Hi...Though, there is a difficulty for somebody to know where the accent of a Latin word is. Is there something for this?

“Is there something for this?”

No; but the good news is, it's seldom terminal.
