eagertolearn,

American and British spellings often differ. The British spellings tend to use "s" and American "z".

You will find several words that follow this pattern, though I cannot direct you to a list. There might be one on the Internet. Native English speakers have no trouble either version. You should, however, try to be consistent. Organize verus organise etc.

I hope this helps.

Julielai,

It seemed to be a backhanded compliment to me. One of the challenges of communicating is how the other person interprets the messages. It would have been better if a "moderator" or "native English speaking" person were to provide an answer. Also, you'll note that I have never claimed to be an expert. As I have stated previously, I am just an average Joe.

I am not interested in debating this this point either about what was or was not intended. I will nip the conversation in the bud if that happens. Translation: I will delete the message.

Nona the brit, Mr Pedantic et al., are all capable of addressing the question that was posed. Again, your participation and help is appreciated.
