Can anyone help me with the correct usage of in and on?

Hi Bagwis,

The word 'in' refers to something that is inside of something;
What is in the box? / What is inside of the box? Where in England are you from?

The word 'on' refers to what is active or is 'on top'
I will turn the computer on / Michael is sitting on the chair / Point to me on the map of where in England you are from?
