I need help writing an apology letter for my brother to the Sheriff's Officer.  He is curently a Deputy who was involved in an accident last month and charged with a DUI.  An elderly man pulled out on him and he hit him from behind.  He had just left from shooting pool with some friends and drinking beer. Luckily no one was injured.  He's one of the best officers on the force and recently promoted to Sgt.  He's wants to let the department know how sorry he is for his actions off the job.  I really don't know how to word it.
