Hello, does anyone know how to write an apology letter pertaining to theft. An apology must be made in a written letter to a department store and I am not sure how to go about this. Thank you

Try following the regular letter format, and include

1) that you are sorry

2) if there is any reason why you did this - not to excuse yourself but so the person reading it might understand why

3) that you are ashamed of your actions and promise never to repeat them

Hi,

I admire your willingness to confess. However, is someone telling you that you must write such a letter? If you consult a lawyer, he might tell you that such a letter might have legal consequences.

Best wishes, Clive

Oh, that's easy then.

Dear Store Manager,

I'm really sorry I got caught stealing in your store. That sucks for both of us. Next time I plan to rip you off, I'll be a lot more careful. So if you could just forget this, it would save you a lot of paperwork and hassle and work out better for me too.

Thanks Dude!

im in the same situation here is what i came up with

I apologize for trying to take items from you store and causing

you time and trouble. If anything good can come of the situation it would be I have

learned a life lesson from this experience however I know what I did was wrong

and I wont make a poor decision like that again. Next time I will set a better

example for my peers and kids younger than me.
