See:

and see which definitions do not correspond to both.

Thanks. When "appear" and "seem" carry the meaning of "seem", are they interchangeable? Is there any sutle difference even they are synonymous to one other?

The previous message is mine. I forgot to log in. I'd like to know if there is any difference between the two words when they carry the meaning of "seem". Thanks.

is this use right?

This car seems like a cadillac.

The cadillac appeared on the back of the street.
