Are you finished? Are you done?

Are you finished it? Are you done it?

Have you finished? Have you done?

Have you finished it? Have you done it?

Please, can anyone tell me which of these sentences are incorrect and why? It seems to me that Are you finished/done it? and Have you done? are incorrect and the others are okay, but I need to know what really is incorrect and not just what feels or sounds wrong. Thank you! Smile [:)]

Are you finished [with the bathroom]? Are you done [with the bathroom]?  Both are fine.

Are you finished [with] it? Are you done [with ] it? – Without [with] to modify the sentence, they are incorrect.

Have you finished [your assignment]? Have you done [your assignment]? Otherwise, the context is incomplete.

Have you finished it? Have you done it? If you have previous context, and the person knows what you are referring to, it is fine. Otherwise, you may have to explain what “it” is.

Are you finished? Are you done?

Are you finished it? Are you done it?

Have you finished? Have you done?

Have you finished it? Have you done it?
_______

Are you finished? Have you finished?  Are you done?
All are equivalent.  The third is much less formal.

Have you finished it? Have you done it?
These aren't equivalent, but they are correct.
