My point was that power (such as it was) was largely passed in a female to female line for a period of about a hundred years. I guess it really IS too much to claim it was matriarchal. I'll retract that statement. Still, the fundamental point is that societies HAVE existed where power was passed in a largely feminine line, even if briefly. I guess it doesn't prove anything, I just thought it was interesting. However, I think it's pretty obvious from your list that 8/126 is not a great track record.

Then again, who am I to judge a social stucture I was not conditioned by... It's still higher than 0/43 (US presidency)

My other point was that these women, brief though their reign was, demonstrated some level of power and political clout in a relatively primitive government by today's standards. It's not impossible to find examples of powerful political women in history, even in repressive societies. Moreover, the imperial court and the old zaibatsu (huge trade groups / banks ... they still exist today) supported these rulers even though it was clear that they have some significant leverage to influence matters of state in a profound way.

My point of view is very objective, and simply clearly-cut. Women let men think they are more intelligent than them.

Are men more intelligent than woman?

In my mind intelligence means being able to apply what you learn. It means how well an individual is able to create a thought/idea from another thought/idea. It means how well a person assimilates what he knows to apply to a certain subject or situation. Intelligence is an individual concept. I do not think intelligence by itself can be generalized to be used on a mass of people.

Coming to the point that men are considered more intelligent than women!

Comparing the intelligence based on success is in itself an unintelligent concept.
Comparing men to women based on their success is again fairly ridiculous as it would be like comparing apples to oranges. There is no comparison. Women play their different role in life and men do theirs.

Men excel in certain fields. They have an aptitude for discovery and inventions. There is no dispute that there are more men than women who become successful in life.
However, it is a grave mistake to think that men are there because women lack intelligence. Intelligence like i said before in my head is an individual concept. Intelligence with opportunity makes a success.

You have a point Burbr......women are more focused on providing. Women are more focused on comforts and practicalities. Since time immemorial this has been the case and it can very well continue like this for the history of mankind. I do not want to start another dispute as to why women are better care givers than men but i think it has something to do with conditioning the human mind.

We learn from what we see, hear and experience. Perceptions are powerful forces in the human mind. A female child comes into this world and is brought up seeing her mother and other women around her as the care givers and so invariably she is conditioned that way.

Success is also relative. Success is a society created term. It is a fiction of the human mind. Furthermore i would like to add that maybe women use their intelligence on a concrete smaller circle of influence than men. Why do men run behind inventions??? What drives men?? Maybe acceptance in society. Maybe because they do not find a normal everyday thing to apply their intelligence to!!!! Maybe because home is dominated by women who know their way around situations and know that their intelligence is more useful because of their experiences.

Could it be that women are concerned with preserving and maintaining life, while men are sometimes more concerned with improving it? Just a thought Smile [:)]

Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity

Even if that were partly true it does not mean that men are more intelligent than women! :p

I wholeheartedly agree.
Ever since I got a ruler stuck in my ear in elementary school I have thought that trying to measure intelligence was a bit silly, but I did try!

It is sad to say this but WE MEN ARE AFRAID OF WOMEN, that's why we think that they are less intelligent than us, and in this way, we might cause them (women) to feel inferior. But how would be this world if there were no women? we would be crazy. Smile [:)]
