I think we're both equal, because both of the sexes go to each other for help.

I'm a man. I have neither met a woman who surpasses me on all intellectual levels, nor one whom I surpass on all intellectual levels. Since I can not say what forms of intellect are superior to others, nor can I comment on the complete intellect of those I've never met, I must obviously conclude that I can not answer this question. You don't see it the same?

I think men are more practical than women. Women often pay attention to their family and their children while men always tend to their position in the society. That is to say, women and men are very difficult to compare like that. Maybe women are more genious than men to some certain extend.
Nowadays, both women and men play an important role in the society. For me, we can not evaluate which sex is more intellignet because there are many fields that people are interested in.

To answer the question: "Intelligence" is a phenomenological, social construct. From an absurdist standpoint, it is meaningless; so nobody is "more intelligent," because there is no metric of comparison.

Within humanity's perspective, it is this: Men are fundamentally more comfortable with overt decision-making, women more with covert influence. Similarly, there are other tasks that men are on average better at, while some tasks come natural to women. Pretending/wishing that this isn't so and subsequently upholding some alternate ideology as The New World Doctrine(TM) amounts in essence to expending needless effort in milking the horse before the cow; sure you can do it, but what exactly is the point? If our instinctive goal is to optimize and evolve society, then we seem to be headed in the wrong direction.

The point where it gets ironic of course is, on an emotional level men are better at influencing women (at least the ones successful with women), while women are better at controlling (unsuccessful) men.

Even if men are considered more intelligent than women some credit should also go to women ,since it is said that "behind every successful man ther is a woman".

Hi, prabeersikdar.

I totally agree with you.
We can't live happily without woman. They are very nice and eager to help and console their husbands and children to overcome bad things. It is an special art. Right?

It is said that: " Men make house women make home " . So I think we should not mention the word " intelligent " for men & woman.
We go to each other to complete this world. Imagine how the world will be without the image of women? So terrible !

We are trying to find " a half of our heart ". This is because we find women are those who can live with us forever. So they are very intelligent. I want to confirm again.
Hope to receive your reply.

NO! Women are definately more intelligent than men. Women, on average have marginally higher intelligences than men. Men are essentially mutations. Thus they deviate from the norm and produce more extreme high achievers (and more extremely low achievers). Also many of the people with the 'genius' label, have other psychological problems which compensate. John Nash Schizophrenia, Isaac Newton and Einstein, Asperger's syndrome. Also, until the information age women were subordinated because of their lack of physical strength, which is no longer important (and has nothing to do with intellect) retarding their progress. Even now they often take the lions share of household tasks and bringing up the children. Often this is not because they cannot do as well as their husbands at other things, but because their husbands are not as good as they are at bringing up children, and this seems more important. Men's incompetence in this field has lead mother nature to provide women with instincts to stay home and care for their children. The fact that many men leave women who they have impregnated through lack of responsibility often means that women have to work earlier to provide for their children rather than continuing in post-graduate education.

The fact that women STILL obtain an equal to marginally higher average than men, despite the set-backs of years of subordination, which to a certain extent continues due to men's incompetence, demonstrates that women must clearly be more intelligent or AT LEAST more versatile in their capacity than men. This is without even taking into consideration the setbacks caused in conjunction with such genius such as Autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia, pscychopathy etc. all of which have higher instances in men than in women

"Personally, it doesn't worry me too much who is more intelligent, if men than women, if elders than youngers, if black people than white people, if shorts than talls, if people from the West than from the East, from the North than the South, if cats than dogs. "

If it doesnt bother you, then why are you responding to a discussion on the topic?? Are you suggesting that it shouldn't matter to anyone else either. If so it is not very well argued.
