Whilst men's brains are bigger, studies have repeatedly shown that women are generally better at verbal communication (talking that is), while men are (as a whole) better at spacial conception (building, engineering, space exploration, driving outrageously fast etc.) No doubt we can look forward to some interesting verbal (or written) responses from female members, and other contributions from our male members. The discussion could be so extended, we would have to refer to so many concepts, how the hierarchies started, the origins of the subordination, the possible fear of her capacity of giving life and its subsequent capacity of controlling it what could be the beggining of the attempts to control her, like the ancient myths which confer the woman the secondary position as to have been created from the man plus the capacity of performing terrible evil acts like tempting Adan, so, being the responsible for the grief of the Humanity, the fact that women have been second class citizens for milleniums in the East, West, North and South, the buring of recent born baby-girls in many cultures and probably still today.......I stop here , it is too long, but if some of you want to dig in this, I recommend you the reading of Stories of Women, by Rosa Montero, Spanish writer. Simply put, MEAN or AVERAGE intelligence is the same in men as in women, as near as can be measured, but men show a greater deviation from the average than do women. This means that, on average, women are more stable than men. You tend to get more male geniuses (on the plus side of the average). But before male readers get too smug, you also tend to get more male pyschotics (on the minus side of the average). It all balances out. And of course, one should never make assumptions about INDIVIDUALS on the basis of statistical data anyway. As to why, who knows? I'm not a neurologist, so I couldn't say. IQ HIGH 7 are women, 2 are men. IQ AVERAGE 10 are women, 10 are men. IQ LOW 7 women, 2 are men. IQ SUPER-LOW 10 are men, 5 are women.
