when 'the' should be used in articles

Hi,

Generally speaking, use 'the' when the listener/reader knows about the thing you are talking about. This is often after the first time you mention something.

eg A man had an accident yesterday. The man was killed. The accident was very serious.

Best wishes, Clive

Here [LINK] is an excellent reference on the use of articles.  There are little tests to check your understanding, too.
