Sentence: I would help you as long as you are my friend.

Question: What if I say, "you are not my friend," does that mean I would not help you if you are not my friend?

Please explain clearly as possible as you can. Providing your clear help would be highly appreciated for me. Thank you.

No, it means "I would help you as long as you are not my friend." Hope I am clear on this!

Well, I am not sure if that is the answer, but I am looking for what is the specific function of "as long as." Let's try again.

Sentence: I would help you as long as you are my friend.

Please correct anything if I misunderstand. Here is my understanding: When I tried to understand the sentence, I thought it means I would help you if you are my friend. In other words, I also thought it means I would not help you if you are not my friend. I'm not sure how this works. You see, I'm trying to understand how to use "as long as" properly.

Please note: Sometimes interpreting my thoughts by writing in my own words can be difficult for me because I was born deaf, unable to comprehend a person's voice, and use ASL (American Sign Language) as my primary language and not used to communicate with hearing people.

I don't think it means you would not help the other person if you were not friends, but that you will give help if they indicate they are well-disposed towards you.

It is open to cofusion, as it could also literally mean for the length of your friendship.
