Our company revenue is 4 times as many as it was 5 years ago.
Our company revenue is 4 times as many as that of 5 years ago.
Are my sentences correct and carry the same meaning?
ThanksLiJ
I would say: Our company's revenue is four times bigger/greater than five years ago.
CB
I see! Revenure is uncountable.
How about:
The number of students in this school is four times as many as (it was) five years ago. (I want to make sure wheather 'it was' is correct if it isn't omitted.)
The number of students in this school is four times larger than five years ago.
Cool Breeze“bigger and greater”
Got it!
Many thanks, CB.
CoolBreeze,When would you use "X times larger than" instead of "X times as large as"?I always use the former but remember in an old post, a native speaker said the latter is more common/natural.I don't have the context. Sorry or I could be suffering another memory lapse again. :)
I hope you can shed some light on this topic.
