Hi, here I am again, always doubted Stick out tongue [:P]

Well, I have doubts as for the function of 'at all'.
I thought that 'at all' meant 'in any/none way', and I am mixed up because I read some people wrote it meaning 'in total'... can it be as well used like this? isn't 'in all'? Teach me the real function of at all. Smile [:)]

hugs from Brazil.

It has a few uses:

"I don't like that type of food at all." = none

"My roommate is awake at all hours of the night" = all

Hello Nanita

In addition to Vorpar's comments:

"In all" can mean "in total":

1. There are 6 chickens in all.

but I've never heard "at all" used for "in all".
