What is the difference between a concierge and a hotel front desk clerk?

Thanks in advance!

Hiya Dominik.
I believe you would say 'concierge' only if you're talking about a palace.
The functions of the concierge job would extend far beyond that of a front desk clerk. A concierge is supposedly able to fulfill even the most whimsical wishes of his jet-set clients...

Hi Waiti
Thank you very much for your reply.
I 've found sth on that subject.

In hotels and certain other facilities, a concierge assists guests with various tasks like finding taxicabs, restaurants, and interesting places to visit. In upscale establishments, a concierge is often expected to "achieve the impossible", dealing with any request a guest may have, no matter how apocryphal or strange, relying on an extensive list of personal contacts with various local merchants and service providers.

Front-desk clerks. They register arriving guests, assign rooms, and check out guests at the end of their stay. They also keep records of room assignments and other registration-related information on computers. When guests check out, desk clerks prepare and explain the charges, as well as process payments.
