The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand so that they could support the body, which would contract in time.

Hi,

Is "at any moment" in the above interchangeable with "anytime/right away?"

Besides, does "enlarge" amount to "become large?"

Last, could I interpret "expand" as "stretch/extend?" Thanks.

It's interchangeable with "at any time", but not exactly with the others.

at any moment/time (now) is like soon, but unpredictable as to exactly when

The candidate is ready and waiting backstage.  He will be addressing the crowd at any moment now.

anytime is more like it doesn't matter when.

Drop by my office anytime and we'll discuss the financial reports you mentioned earlier.

right away is more like immediately.

We'll have to come later because we can't come right away.

enlarge = become large; make large
Similar words:  enrich = make rich; enable = make able

expand, stretch, and expand would all work in the given context.
