-No, it really isn't. Everybody always says that but

at the end of the day it's pretty damn simple.

'After all' is a good way to understand it; I also think of bascially, actually, and 'after all is said and done'.

It's one of those expressions that is being used way too often, recently.  Use is sparingly.
