Although some critics groups and NBR have picked their winners, awards season begins tomorrow with the HFPA Golden Golobe nominations.

One of my favorites may not do as well as I had thought, because "The Queen" is looking like a juggernaut. I knew that Helen Mirren would not be denied a Best Actress Oscar for her performance, but the critics groups choices are indicating the movie has coattails.

Oh, well. "Stranger Than Fiction" has taken home at least one writing award.
