"Friends are always having way more fun than it really makes sense to be having."

Is this sentence correct despite being awkward?

Oh, God.

I'm puzzled with the sentence. What's the meaning?

I think maybe the sentence suggests that it is not really
sensible to have so much fun, but they do it anyway.

Sensible here meaning common sense,
or sober and constructive thinking or behavior.

I see a puritanical influence there, I think.
