With 'beginning' does it matter if I use past tense or present tense? What do these sentences mean if they are correct?

1. Your price was too high from the beginning.

2. Your price is too high from the beginning.

Thanks.

Hi,

1. Your price was too high from the beginning.

2. Your price is too high from the beginning.

Present tense sounds odd here. You need some form of past tense. You might consider 'Your price has been too high from the beginning'.

Best wishes, Clive
