Hello.

I live in Japan. There is a very famous karaoke bar named "Billy the Kid".

What does that mean? "name the noun" ...what is this?

The kid who was named Billy? I looked into the Japanese-English dictionary, but I couldn't find the explanation of this usage. Thank you.
