No. The idea is that, if you work for 3 hours, the library will give you $30 that you can use to buy books. The'credit' idea means they will not actually give you cash. They might give you a certificate that you can use when you spend the $30. But probably, they will put your name on a list or in their computer so that the cashier will just be able to look and see that you are entitled to $30. You cannot take the paper to a bank and convert it to real money, you cannot use it in a store or anywhere else.
