1.you say herbs (pronounced without the "h" sound as "erbs")  and we say herbs (pronounced with the "h" sound) because there's a fu****g "h" in it    00:49

The comedian is making fun of people who refuse to learn a second language. Much of the humor is in the sort of exaggerated indignation in his voice and manner as he delivers the joke.

Listen carefully starting at about 02:36. He is explaining that Brits visiting America would be horrified at the thought of seeing an item called "biscuits in gravy" on a menu because the word "biscuit" means two entirely different things to Americans and Brits.

Don't feel too bad. When I watch British TV shows on DVD I often find myself having to rewind and turn on the subtitles to catch what they are saying. I guess it's just a matter of training your ear to hear the accent. Of course, for me at least, part of the problem is the unfamiliar slang and other turns of phrase used in BrE but not in AmE. Not to mention the common terms with entirely different meanings. And the occasional use of a bit of rhyming slang, just for good measure. Oh well, as the saying goes, Britain and America are two countries separated by a common language.
