I'm british, but my pronunciation needs work. could any of you kindly direct me to some useful resources?

Pronunciation (note the spelling of the noun!! - but to pronounce) is not something you will find in a book but you need a native speaker to help you. I suggest you try to listen to English radio broadcasts (available on the internet) as you are probably not living in the UK.
