We found ourselves perched on the floor by Dad's feet.

What does 'by Dad's feet' modify? 'Perched'?

Yes.  It could have been perched by Dad's feet on the floor.  Both prepositional phrases are adverbial (modify the verb).

You didn't think it was the floor by Dad's feet as opposed to some other floor, did you?  Smile

Logically, one wouldn't think that. But how else would you convey that idea? (:)) Smile
