Hi Marius,

It's the term constantly mentioned by a solicitor, of which I have no idea. It seems to be a court date but defnitely not a direction hearing.

Your use of the term solicitor indicates a court system based on British law.  Maybe someone British can answer.

Here in the U.S. we use the term lawyer, and I've never heard of a "Call Over".

It could be the standard use of the idiom "call over": to summon.

It seems the term is used in Australia.

See the following link for an explanation of a call-over hearing.

Hi Optilang,
Thanks for your help. It seems your URL is broken. Surprisingly, the legal system of Australia and Hong Kong are similar. Nonetheless, using your supplied URL, I find out more listings on Callover through Google.
Thanks again.

Hi,

I've edited the link in Optilang's post. Now it should work, so please try again (warning: it's a pdf file).

Hi Tanit,
Thanks for revitalize the link. The explanation denotes that it's more serious than I previously thought. I suspect the judge could issue orders and a penal notice as well during the Callover, can't he/she?
Thanks for your help.
