"can" is finite or of non-finite verb.

Finite: it has no infinitive and no past or present participle, so cannot form a nonfinite clause. Remember, however, that with the exception of the modals, we have no 'finite' vs 'nonfinite' verbs, just 'finite' vs 'nonfinite' forms of verbs.
